Rossnaree (The Headland of the King) was built in the italianate style with earlier parts dating from the early 1700's. The site has been identified as the House of Cletty, where it is thought the High Kings coming from Tara would wait before crossing the river Boyne to partake in seasonal ceremonies.

Rossnaree is set above a bend on the river Boyne surrounded by the lands of the family farm. The Law family have since 1925 extended the fishery with the lands, which were once part of the Cistercian Abbey of Mellifont. The lands were later granted to the Earl of Drogheda.

Misty river Boyne Here Finn Mac Cumhail is said to have cooked the legendary Salmon of Knowledge. Rossnaree has also figured in many notable battles and events throughout our history. A famously contested crossing took place here during the Battle of the Boyne.

Rossnaree has great views of Newgrange and Knowth, even from inside the house the mounds can be seen from the breakfast room and the bedrooms which overlook the Boyne.
